Many trade vocations are often very hands on, such as with electricians, Hvac professionals, and even a plumber. Holiday residents probably already know that one of the big aspects of trade vocations is that they have many tools that are specific to their occupation. Plumbers have to use a variety of tools in order to handle the many problems that can happen with water systems and appliances of a home. Some of these tools might be obvious and an individual might have them in their tool box, but some tools are specific for the plumbing profession.
Different types of wrenches
The staple tool that most people recognize as being synonymous with the plumbing trade is a wrench. Yet one wrench is not going to solve all problems for a skilled plumber. Holiday residents should be aware that the most important wrench a plumber can have is called a pipe wrench. Pipe wrenches come in different designs and configurations to get into hard to reach spots. For example, an end pipe wrench is used on pipes that are very close to a wall, that might be a problem for a regular pipe wrench. Another popular type of wrench that plumbing professionals have is called a basin wrench.
Drain Augers or Snakes
Another tool that is often attributed to the plumbing profession exclusively is a called a drain auger. This is a metal cable that is coiled up that fits down a drain when a plunger is not doing the job to unclog the situation. When someone calls a plumber, Holiday residents might refer to this service as snaking the drain. When a plumber is snaking a drain, the drain augers have a crank that rotates and pushes the cable at the same time, alleviating the blockage.
